Experimenting with food and illustration: a visual recipe

Recipes are often dull, but drawings are not! And since I love both, I decided to experiment by visualizing a recipe through drawing. And what dish could be better than the simplest and perhaps tastiest Italian dish? Aglio e olio!

Aglio e olio

Most of the effort went into drawing the ingredients and cookware, and then composing the layout. The challenge was fitting everything onto one A4 sheet, without any written or other instructions.

As a result, I don’t think it’s suitable for someone who’s never made it before, but there are hints, such as using the pasta water (the drop from the pot to the frying pan) to bind the sauce.
